GroundWork Renewables
2019 - 2021
Solar & Meteorological Infrastructure | Utility-Scale Renewable Energy
Context
GroundWork Renewables develops and supports solar and meteorological infrastructure used for utility-scale energy forecasting and performance monitoring. As a Field Technician, I supported calibration, maintenance, and data reliability for a live solar and met tower installation.
Working directly with physical infrastructure strengthened my understanding of how small workflow inefficiencies can affect system reliability and downstream decision-making.
Optimizing Calibration Workflows in the Field
Problem
Calibration and maintenance processes were time-intensive and exposed to environmental constraints, increasing downtime risk and operational variability.
Opportunity
Refine calibration workflows to improve efficiency while maintaining strict safety and data accuracy standards.
My Role & Ownership
I evaluated existing procedures, identified redundant steps, and proposed process refinements that improved workflow consistency in field conditions.
Product & Process Decisions
Streamlined calibration sequencing to reduce unnecessary repetition
Standardized field documentation to improve traceability
Prioritized safety and data integrity while increasing efficiency
Impact
Reduced calibration time by approximately 25 percent
Maintained compliance with safety and accuracy standards
Improved reliability of downstream forecasting data
Capabilities Demonstrated
Systems thinking within physical infrastructure environments
